A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former trainer Cervara.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after spring of the previous year.

The win also signifies he has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an better serving game.

The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the last five points to go ahead.

The pair traded break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

Moutet saved four initial opportunities in a competitive third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner earned the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
