I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
